Ideal Plastics Systems, Inc., founded in 1999 by K. Peter Kahuda with the support of his business partner Michael P. Canty, celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2024. As the company marks a quarter-century in the dynamic world of plastics manufacturing, it seems an opportune moment for me to reflect on the remarkable journey Peter and I have had as partners and friends.
In 1999, Peter and I embarked on a journey to establish a manufacturer’s representative company that would not just sell equipment but provide solutions to the New England Plastics industry market.
Drawing on experience and understanding of the New England territory, we founded Ideal Plastics Systems, Inc. (Ideal Plastics). Entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to excellence, innovation and customer satisfaction have always been the driving force behind our company’s success.

Michael Canty
Michael Canty graduated from Nichols College in 1991 with a degree in Public Administration. He received a Master’s degree in Business Administration in 2008. Michael founded Ideal Plastics with K. Peter Kahuda in 1999. In his free time, Michael enjoys cycling, hiking, swimming, traveling and being outdoors.
Tom Hudon
Tom Hudson graduated from Saint Anselm College in 2016 with a degree in Biochemistry. He worked as a process chemist post-graduation before joining Ideal Plastics. In his free time, Tom enjoys taking walks with his wife and dog.
Karen Johnson
Karen Johnson graduated from Mass Bay College in 1977 with a degree in Business Administration. Karen has been in the customer service industry for more than 30 years. She joined Ideal Plastics in 2019. In her free time, Karen enjoys painting, reading, and gardening.
Peter Wojtas
Peter Wojtas graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell with a degree in Plastics Engineering. For 35 years he’s worked with leading New England companies on PLC programming, automation integration, process development and all-around troubleshooting. In his free time, Peter enjoys taking walks with his wife and dog and spending time with his grandchildren.
